THE 24 finalists of Miss Malaysia Model of the World were taken on an educational tour to Chuan Sin Sdn Bhd, a bottled mineral water manufacturer, in Taiping recently.

  A subsidiary of Spritzer Bhd, it extracts water from artesian wells. The sprouting water from underground then endergoes strict laboratory tests where impurities in the water are filtered and treated before being bottled as drinking mineral water.

  It also produces a variety of sweet-flavoured pop drinks.

  The guests were met on arrival by the factory's managing director Lim Kok Boon and a special guest - Perak MCA secretary Datuk Ho Cheng Wang.

  The group was then led to the "Water Bar" where they were served with cool refreshments that were produced by the factory. This is a unique bar that serves only mineral water-based beverages. There was also a photography session at the plant.

  Public relationship executive Winnie Chin and two of her colleagues then took the guests on a guided tour around the plant.

  Meanwhile, Veandra Voon of Star Avenue Production Ipoh, said the preliminary rounds of the Miss Malaysia Model of the World event were held in nine states.

  The 24 finalists were selected from qualifiers who had gone through a short modelling course in Ipoh.

  She added that in the finals, two models will be selected - one to represent Malaysia in the Miss Model of the World event in China in November, and the other, in the International Model of the Year in Korea in September.
